A Little About Me
Let me introduce myself. I’m Stormy–and no, that’s not my real name. I’ve been going by the name “Stormy” in the Sims community since 2006. I started playing the game when “The Sims” first came out. I’ve been an addict since. Originally I’m from California, but I currently live in Las Vegas; the land of weirdos and horrible drivers. I am married to a wonderful man of 6 years now. 🙂
My Sims History
I began my time in the Sims community since 2006 when I first registered at my first Sims forum, Mod the Sims 2 aka MTS2, which is now just called Mod the Sims. I stayed there for a couple of years before starting a new Sims 2 forum–Sims 2 Supernova–with a fellow Simmer whom I met at MTS2. After about a month or so, I left that forum due to irreconcilable differences with the co-admin, and took the domain with me. I soon started a new forum under the same name with a friend of mine and we turned it into a successful Sims 2 forum. We started our first Sims 2 magazine called NovaStyle and managed to complete 3 issues. Sims 2 Supernova stayed in existence from 2007 – 2011.
I then went into a 3-year hiatus from the Sims community where I got married and moved to another state. By the time I came back, Sims 3 was at its peak in popularity (I had only been playing the game for about 6 months prior) and I had to find out where all the hype was located. That’s how I discovered Tumblr. I didn’t know anybody and all the people I did know from my Sims 2 days had left the community. I started my own Simblr in hopes of finding a new place to hang out with fellow Simmers and I’m glad I did because I’ve met some wonderful people!
I soon found some of my old friends from my old forum, Sims 2 Supernova and decided to start a new forum that I called Sims Supernova. This time, it didn’t go so well as I kept losing moderators due to real life situations. During this time, I was able to start my 2nd magazine for Sims 3 called Rock the Sims. We completed 5 issues of that before closing it down back in 2014. Sims Supernova stayed open for a year or so, and then I decided to just shut it down in 2014 also–months before I shut the magazine down. I learned that I had much better fun maintaining my Simblr and my WordPress blog instead.
My Sims Stories
I’ve always loved writing and have written over two dozen short stories since I was 7 years old. I started my first Sims 2 story in 2007 at the MTS2 forums, which was called Audrina. It was about a teenage girl who tries to find solace, love, and refuge after her parents are killed in an accident and her little brother was taken away into foster care. I managed to complete it and that was probably the only short Sims stories I ever completed at that forum. The second story I wrote at that same forum was All That Glitters, but like I said, I never completed it.
My third Sims story, The Withersby Legacy, was my first legacy story. That one reached the beginning of the 2nd generation when my computer crashed and I lost everything. When I got back into writing again, I began my story, The Life & Times of the Willows.
